PROGRAMMING

Project Q serves over 800 lesbian, gay, bisexual, trangender, queer and questioning youth annually, and approximately 150 of those youth receive extensive case management services, meeting with staff one-on-one to work through life problems and reach their goals. Project Q also provides weekly programming Monday through Friday and every other Saturday.

Monday, Tuesday and Friday are “drop-in” days when youth listen to music, work on computers, and socialize in between structured education on subjects from healthy relationships to cooking to safe sex. Every Wednesday, the program offers an opportunity for youth to develop life skills hands-on, including managing conflict and coping with stress and frustration. Thursdays provide a time to talk about oppression and social justice and messages conveyed in the media, empowerng youth to take steps in their own lives to address prejudice and create safer spaces throughout their communities.
